Resolutions for 2016 #7

In 2016 we will…

Love ourselves!

Learning to love yourself and be proud of who you are, what you have achieved and what you look like is fundamental to your sense of worth and self confidence.

It can be difficult be positive 100% of the time, but if you can’t even love yourself, how can you expect others to love you? Write down any negative thoughts you have about yourself and imagine you have written them about someone else. Now can you see how hard you’re being on yourself? You wouldn’t describe other people in such a negative light, so please don’t do it to yourself. Take your list of negatives and turn them into positives by looking at them from a different angle for example, you may have written ‘my tummy is fat and wobbly’, so turn that into a positive by reminding yourself that very same tummy was a house for your child for nine months. Do the same for all of the negatives on your list until you have a new ‘positive’ list. Finally, take the negative list and burn it. You’ll be amazed at the sense of relief and freedom you feel when you watch all your negativity go up in flames.
