7 Hacks For Head To Toe Softer Skin

Want to beautify your skin and make it ultra-soft to the touch? It’s a lot easier than you think, and very affordable. Here are 7 easy hacks to get softer skin from head to toe.

1. Drink Lots Of Water

One of the easiest ways to maintain soft skin is to drink plenty of water. You should aim to drink at least eight 8-ounce glasses of water per day. You might even need to drink a couple of extra glasses if you regularly work out. A key rule to remember is that you’re already dehydrated by the time you feel thirsty, so try and drink water consistently throughout the day rather than having several glasses over a couple short periods.

Water has plenty of other benefits, too. Drinking lots of water can help you lose weight, stay energized, and keep stress at bay. If you don’t like the taste of plain water, try adding a slice of lemon to your glass to give it a little bit more flavour.

2. Protect Yourself From The Sun

To maintain soft skin, do your best to protect yourself from the sun when you’re outdoors. The sun emits ultraviolet (UV) rays that are damaging to your skin. When you’re going to spend a prolonged amount of time outdoors, be sure to apply sunscreen on any part of your skin that’s not covered by clothing—even during cloudy days. The best sunscreens have a SPF rating of 30 or higher.

You can also get a hat that shades your face from the sun. Sunglasses are also helpful for protecting your eyes during very bright days. If you’re going to be spending a day at the beach, remember to reapply your sunscreen every two hours.

3. Moisturise Your Face After Washing

Get in the habit of moisturising your face after washing. Hot water and facial cleanser will dehydrate your face, which will result in drier skin. Keep a bottle of moisturiser in your bathroom so you can apply moisturiser as soon as you step out of the shower.

If you want to keep your face smooth, it’s also important that you wash your face in the right way. If you’re not careful in how you wash your face, you could wind up making the skin dry or rubbing dirt into your skin. Be sure to read this guide on how to wash your face properly.

4. Eat Healthy

A healthy diet is essential in maintaining soft skin. Remember, your skin is made up of cells, and your cells need good nutrients to operate at their highest levels. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables, and if you’re going to consume meat, try and eat white meat, like chicken and fish. To ensure optimal intake of nutrients and vitamins that feed and nourish your skin from the inside, it’s best to also include natural skin supplements in your diet.

Here are a few healthy foods that are good for your skin:

  • Avocados
  • Walnuts
  • Sweet potatoes
  • Bell peppers
  • Broccoli
  • Green tea
  • Grapes

If you need help preparing recipes, think about using a meal delivery service. Avoid unhealthy foods that are full of trans-fats.

5. Get Lots Of Sleep

Getting lots of sleep is also key to having healthy skin. When you’re sleep-deprived, your body releases more cortisol, which is a stress hormone. Elevated levels of stress hormones can decrease your skin quality.

Try and get at least 6 to 8 hours of sleep per night – some people might even need 9 or 10 hours of sleep to be fully rested. If you’re having difficulty sleeping, think about taking melatonin or using a weighted blanket. You should also try turning off your electronics at least one hour before bed, because the blue lights prevent your brain from releasing chemicals you need to feel sleepy. Lastly, try to get in the habit of going to bed and waking up at around the same time every day.

6. Get Exercise

Exercise helps to improve your skin because it increases your body’s blood flow, so your skin cells receive more oxygen and nutrients. Sweat also cleanses your skin. You don’t need to work out for very long each day: fifteen or twenty minutes on the treadmill or jogging around your neighbourhood is an easy way to get exercise.

Strength training is also a great way to work out, but if you don’t like going to the gym, you could always do calisthenics exercises at home.

7. Reduce Your Stress

Last but not least, you can soften your skin by reducing your overall stress levels. As mentioned before, stress hormones affect your skin quality. Meditation, yoga, socialising with friends, and exercising are all great ways to reduce stress. Also do your best to remove negativity from your life. Happy feelings can contribute to healthy skin.

It doesn’t take a lot of effort to soften up your skin, just use one or more of these 7 hacks!
