This year I have #hiked most of the South Downs Wa This year I have #hiked most of the South Downs Way as well as the Gran Paradiso in the Italian Alps - it's been utterly incredible and I can't wait to hopefully plan some more #hikes in for next year (any friends reading this let me know if you're interested and we'll get some booked in!!)

Aside from learning a hell of a lot about myself (that I can do it, that I am more capable than I ever give myself credit, and that I really really need to figure out how to sleep better on multi day trips!) I've also discovered THE best, most comfortable, non blister creating #walking shoes that have ever existed to humankind.

Seriously, there was barely any wearing in to be had, my feet got soaked, I walked for miles, and the sweat life was real. But still.... zero blisters. They are the absolute dream.

Aside from giving you a chuckle, there is actually Aside from giving you a chuckle, there is actually a point to me posting this heavily filtered photo of me (what do you mean, what filter, you cheeky sods 😜)

I've been thinking a lot recently about the things we can do now to help us when we're older. And it's inspired my latest #blogpost which you can have a read of by clicking on the link in my bio 🔝

Based on the #longevity physician, @peterattiamd 's concept of the Centenarian Decathlon (read more in my article) I have compiled a list of 10 activities that I would like to still be able to do when I am 80. Nothing particularly strenuous, some really practical things like being able to balance on 1 leg unaided, or being able to go for long walks, or even just carrying heavy bags. Things that at age 44 I take for granted.

And the idea is that by having this list, you can kind of reverse engineer it so that you can figure out what it is you need to do in order to continue doing these activities later on in life.

It's a really interesting exercise to do actually and I'd strongly recommend you having a read of my post to get a bit of inspiration first and then writing your own list. Not only does it highlight the things that are important to you, but it also gives you more of an idea of the type of #movement you could be doing now to ensure you can continue to live the life you love.

I've got to say, I found it fascinating. And it really opened my eyes to the importance of simple, intuitive movement ranges that we do naturally as kids, but for whatever reason we stop doing as adults.

I've recently got back from a 2 week safari/beach I've recently got back from a 2 week safari/beach chill out holiday in Tanzania and Zanzibar (complete bucket list holiday!) and never have I felt more hot (and I mean sexy hot not sweaty hoy) than when I was strutting around in this @adidas swimsuit 🔥 

I never thought a cut out #swimsuit would be for me. I thought I was too old, too chunky, past it, not able to pull it off. And that I'd be forever hoiking up the top bit, pulling the bottoms out of my arse crack (cos hungry bum is a #firstworldproblem right 🤷‍♀️) and having to deal with some major modern art tan lines. But you know what, I'm converted!

I felt incredible in it. Like covered up enough, but not covered up too much. And it's surprisingly comfy. There was no grabbing and tugging to keep it in place. In fact myself and the rest of the family can fully vouch for the fact that my ladies stayed well and truly covered 🍉🍉

It has become my new summer staple and it got me thinking about what other summer essentials I can't do without. Which inspired me to write my latest post '10 Summer Essentials Every Active Woman Needs' **LINK IN BIO**

Bex had a large G&T and a wine round the neighbours last night and didn't go to bed until 11pm.

Bex is crazy like that.

Bex could have quite easily stayed in bed or swanned about in her cockapoo pyjamas all morning.

But Bex has got to walk the dog.

And Bex has got 2 lots of builders in her house.

Bex went for a run.
I did a thing. Quite a big, ginormous, huge thing I did a thing.

I climbed a mountain ⛰️ 

Last weekend saw me go on a 3 day adventure to #hike the Gran Paradiso National Park in the Italian Alps with @trek.it.wild and @muchbetteradventures And to say it was EPIC is an understatement!

This is by far the toughest #challenge I have ever undertaken, so the pride levels are pretty damn high right now, let me tell you 💁‍♀️ 

Not gonna lie, it wasn't all rainbows and unicorns, it was bloody tough at times, and a toddler tantrum was had. But, it was AWESOME!

Obviously, I've written all about it, cos that's what I do, and you can have a good old read by clicking on the link in my bio. Be warned, it's a mega sweary one, but I think I can safely say I've found my writing voice again 🤣

Sometimes you just gotta grab life by the balls and do something that you've always wanted to do, but that also scares the crap out of you. Because that my loves is where happiness lies. I've come back feeling absolutely knackered (jeez it took me 4 days to get my head straight enough to write this) but also filled to the brim with self confidence, strength, joy, and the knowledge that I am more capable than I ever give myself credit for. And that is priceless.
