Same hill as last week but this time I cracked it Same hill as last week but this time I cracked it πŸ”₯ Boomshakalak!

I don't know why I'm getting so excited really, I mean I've #run this hill countless times before. Sometimes I make it all the way up, sometimes I don't, sometimes it's because I can't, sometimes it's because I just don't bloody want to. So what was different today?

Well I had breakfast for starters. Then there's the fact I had no breakthrough bleeds this week (TMI probs but for sure a factor), then there was my steadier pacing, a better night's sleep, and a slightly more motivated dog. ALL of these things make that hill a lot more achievable.

It doesn't make last week's run any less valid and it doesn't make this week's run any more successful. The fact is each and every time we run there are multiple different factors at play that affect our performance. Whether it's physical, mental, emotional environmental, they all play a part. And so there is zero point in comparing. Because one run is never the same as the last. It is simply a run in its own right 🫑

PS Swipe right ➑️ for the #instareality of what that hill was really like 🀣
There's nothing that brings me more #joy than taki There's nothing that brings me more #joy than taking this one out in the forest and watching him live his best life. I mean, just look at the smiley face πŸ˜ƒ
NEW POST "Heat rashes are caused when the sweat p NEW POST

"Heat rashes are caused when the sweat pores get blocked, leading to the sweat getting trapped under the skin.

It is frequently seen in children and adults suffering from increased sweating, affecting up to 30% of individuals living in hot and humid climates. Because of this, it also known as β€œsweat rash”. Heat rash may lead to irritation of skin, pain, and discomfort.

Usually, #heatrash will resolve in a few days to weeks, but may require medical intervention in persistent cases."

To find out more about #miliariarubra (heat rash) from @vithoulkas_academy head on over to the link in our bio to read the full article.
Another cheeky 6k #run in the bag πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ T Another cheeky 6k #run in the bag πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

This time I got dropped off en route to the school drop off and them made my way back home via the back paths.

A lovely route, but I kinda forgot just how many uphills there are. I was even having to drag the dog up them at the end and it's usually always the other way round!

I know I said I wasn't going to be tracking my runs any more after last week's missing hill reps debacle (still pissed off, not gonna lie) but now that I've done a couple of new ones I wanted to record how far they were. Not necessarily to get certain distances run, but more a case of knowing how far they are so I have options if I feel like a shorter or a longer run in future.

It was by no means a speedy one, and my legs were deffo telling me I've been doing more than usual over the past week, but it got me out and I managed to get home 🀣
I love going for long #walks with the dog of a mor I love going for long #walks with the dog of a morning, but sometimes it requires more effort and giant kicks up the backsides than others. So this morning, in a bid to self motivate and cheerlead myself on I decided to mix things up a little and do a different route.

It was the husband's turn to drop the kids at school this morning, so me and the dog saw it as an opportunity to hop in too. We got dropped off and started walking home. I mean, when you're dropped off far from home you have very little choice but to walk back, right? So if that's not motivation enough, then I don't know what is 🀣🀣

7km, 1 hour 20 mins later, and we were back home. Covered in mud, sweaty as hell (I seriously over layered!) big grins on our chops, and feeling ALL the smugness!

Lesson? Mix things up a bit so you don't get bored. If you don't, you risk hating the very thing you love.

I'm now back home, boots cleaned, dog washed, and I'm wallowing in a hot bath while my roots get dyed. I would share a pic of that, but I don't want to break the Internet πŸ€ͺ

Have a gorgeous day lovely ones 😘
Little life update... Basically I'm busy. Very, v Little life update...

Basically I'm busy. Very, very busy (hence my somewhat sporadic postings of late πŸ™ˆ). I'm juggling a lot of different balls at the moment and not gonna lie, I've had a couple of moments where it felt like I might drop a couple. I guess you could say I did drop the social media one, but hey it's really not the worst one to drop, right?

The house has kept us super busy. I'll share a couple of pics in my stories so you can see some progress pics. We're at the 'got to look πŸ’© before it gets better' stage. Although, we have almost finished 1 room. We're going to have 1 amazing room in the entire house done... and we're giving it to our teenage son (what were we thinking! 🀣)

On top of that work has ramped up, the kids have had a lot of stuff going on/coming up that has required a fair bit of organisation, and there's some family stuff that's going on. My head has felt a bit mashed at time. Thank god for running!!

Oh and then there's the whole #perimenopause thing. How ironic that I posted not long ago about having a longer, more stable cycle. Only for me to then have a 5 day on, 5 day off, 5 day #period Yeah, thanks for that #hormones πŸ™„

It's utterly exhausting when that happens. I'm ready to fall asleep in the afternoon, and certainly incapable of staying up past 9.30pm. It has made exercise both physically and motivational much, much harder.

I did however, complete the 30 day #yoga online with @findingbalancewithyoga My first time doing yoga at home, a complete novice, but I loved it. And I realised how much I need that quiet 20 minutes of me time at the end of the day. It has really helped relax me, stretch me, and keep my mind centred when all this hectiness has been going on around me. If anyone has any other good suggestion of online yoga practices please send them my way as really want to keep this up.

I've been a bit slack on the stength stuff of late and I miss it.

Trying hard not to feel guilty about not doing it. Trying hard to not focus on how less strong I feel. Trying hard not to talk negatively to myself.

Until next time lovelies, whenever that might be!
