Wearing a skirt the colour of the sky and a massiv Wearing a skirt the colour of the sky and a massive smile on my face cos guess what.... there's just 1 week of home schooling left and it's FRIDAY!!!!!!!!
.
.
We have so got this my luverlies. Just 5 more days, 5 teeny tiny days, and then we're free. I mean OK so there's not much we can do with this freedom, but there's a hell of a lot of stuff we can enjoy, like.......
.
1. An empty(ier) laundry basket.
2. A house that stays clean for more than an hour.
3. An uninterrupted cuppa.
4. Work uninterrupted, wherever and whenever we want.
5. Moan free walks.
6. Not having to listen to sweary outbursts about Call Of Duty.
7. A full fridge.
8. Time, so much time, to just think, about anything!
9. No more guilt about how much time the kids are on screens.
10. Our own schedule.
.
.
Small things I know, but omg I have missed these small things. I'm sure there's a tonne of others, so please share with me what you're looking forward to as well.
.
.
At the moment I'm just sat here debating whether 4pm is too early for Friday drinks.... it's the sunshine, it does that to ya doesn't it. But as @mrsgifletcher mentioned in her post earlier, office drinks would deffo be going down on a Friday afternoon, so I'm thinking that should deffo be a thing in the home office. Bit weird me sat on my tod drinking a pornstar martini though do ya think? #happyfridayeveryone
Hope comes in many different disguises and I think Hope comes in many different disguises and I think I found a tonne of them on my walk this morning 🌟
.
.
At the risk of sounding like the soppiest wanker on the planet here's some of the things I'm loving today that have filled me with the kind of #hope that only Spring can manage to muster up.
.
1. Fluffy apricot clouds.
2. Undone coats.
3. Daylight before 7am.
4. Patches of snowdrops.
5. Dawn chorus.
6. Deer in a field.
7. Golden sunrise glow bouncing off trees.
8. Catkins.
9. Splashes of yellow flowers on gorse.
10. Little green shoots.
.
.
I haven't felt this positive in such a long time and I honestly felt like I was viewing the world with fresh eyes again. It's fucking spectacular out there today and nothing really has changed other than the hope being offered and the way I'm choosing to view it.
.
.
Of course there are still the neggy people out there - I remarked to a fellow dog owner about how nice it is that the mornings are so light and his response.... "yeah until the clocks go back next month" πŸ™„ Nice try mate, but ain't no one raining on this girl's parade today no siree.
.
.
Hoping my #positivity radiates out to you - I've got plenty to share out today 😁😍

Dressing up for me πŸ’ƒπŸ’β€β™€οΈ . . The first Dressing up for me πŸ’ƒπŸ’β€β™€οΈ
.
.
The first lockdown I was all about the dressing up in weird and wacky costumes (remember Tiger King #WazzockWednesday anyone!?!) This time round it's all about dragging out my best clobber (and maybe buying some new stuff, cos well what else have I got spend my money on πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ) and making myself feel might fine #joyofgettingdressed stylee!
.
.
After yesterday's ridiculously faffy procrastination day I decided to grab today by the proverbial balls and show it I mean business. So after a very wet, and very muddy dog walk I treated myself to a lovely bath, double shampooed my hair, slapped on some body lotion and have made myself feel like a million dollars. And all because I bothered to take a little time for me.
.
.
The plan was to dry my hair, straighten it and then put some make up on to cover up my hormonal spots. But you've seen my hair, it's a fucking major task to tame it and quite frankly I couldn't be arsed. And as for the spots, fuck it, I'm fine with them and make up only makes them worse anyways. So side plait and @elemis moisturiser it is. And I still feel amazing, cos I know I've treated myself well.
.
.
And do you know what? That's what counts. Just giving yourself a little bit of time, thinking about what it is that'll make you feel better. Which today, for me, was looking after some pretty basic cleansing habits and throwing on a swishy dress πŸ‘—
Pancake Day πŸ₯ž . . I think cooking with kids is Pancake Day πŸ₯ž
.
.
I think cooking with kids is so so important. How else are they supposed to learn if you don't let them get stuck in and make some mistakes (and a mess!). Plus, I wanna know that when they get released into the wild they've at least got a few culinary skills under their belts... even if they do choose to exist on Pot Noodles (I can at least breathe easy knowing I've tried).
.
.
My two are both of an age now where I can let them crack on relatively unaided - I still need to sit there and answer the occasional question, but all in all they're capable enough. So seeing as it's #pancakeday I set them both the challenge to find a recipe online (well, might as well put their love of screens to good use!) and see who could come up with the best pancakes.
.
.
If truth be told, it wasn't just me wanting them to learn some cooking skills, but also my way of avoiding having to make them myself 'cos God they do take a while don't they!?! And the idea was they'd make them and then we could all have it for lunch - result! Turns out what should have produced enough to feed a family of 4, actually ended up being 3 made by the girl (which she promptly snaffled away for herself and I mean who can blame her - look at them 🀀) and 2 scrunched up thin pancakes made by the boy as well as the worlds thickest pancake because by that point he'd had enough and just tipped the rest of the mixture into the frying pan #boylogic πŸ™„
.
.
Needless to say the husband got the thick one and I opted for cheese on toast. No pancakes for me this year, but I'm now all chufty smug knowing they now know exactly how much work goes into a stack of pancakes and perhaps maybe (MAYBE) they might be a more more appreciative of me in future.
