Date and Pecan Flapjacks

Pecans are my absolute all time favourite nut and they are crazy scrumdiddlyumptious when combined with sweet maple syrup and chewy, sticky dates. There’s not much more I can say about this Date and Pecan Flapjacks recipe other than they taste amaze so just make them!

What’s In Date and Pecan Flapjacks?

  • 400g Oats
  • 300ml Maple Syrup
  • 200g Unsalted Butter
  • 200g Pecans
  • 100g Chopped Dates

How Do I Make Date and Pecan Flapjacks?

Melt the butter in a saucepan and add the chopped dates and 200ml of the maple syrup. Mix together until it starts to form a sticky syrup then remove from the heat and stir in the oats and 100g of pecans.

Spoon into the squares of an individual brownie tin, making sure to compact down with the back of the spoon and then bake in a moderate oven for 20 minutes or until golden.

Whilst the flapjacks are cooling in the tin, put the remaining pecans and maple syrup in a saucepan and heat for roughly 10 minutes, stirring regularly.

Spoon the sticky maple pecans over the top of each flapjack and allow to completely cool before removing from the tin.
