Most of us will want to look after our health throughout our lives and there’s a lot that needs looking after! Our teeth are strong but they’re not invincible and seeing as we only get the one set of adult teeth, it’s essential to make them last. With that said, here are four tips to keep your teeth healthy.
Brush Three Times A Day
Brushing your teeth at least two times a day is a must because there’s a lot of build-up from food and bacteria that can form throughout the day. Ideally, it’s good to be brushing your teeth after every meal and with that in mind, three times a day is the most effective way of keeping your teeth clean. Anyone who has ever dealt with sensitive teeth knows that it is no fun. The pain can range from a slight discomfort to true agony, making it hard to enjoy even the simplest pleasures in life. While there are many potential causes of sensitive teeth, one of the most common is simply failing to brush properly.
Brushing your teeth three times though, isn’t always something that’s achievable, especially when it means that you’ll need to carry your toothbrush and toothpaste with you when you go into work. That’s not possible for a lot of people to do and there’s not always the time to do it. Try to brush your teeth twice and if you’re able to, three times for it to be effective on keeping your teeth nice and clean.
Use Floss And Mouthwash
It’s not just your teeth that need cleaning in order to keep the teeth healthy. You also want to focus your attention on flossing and mouthwash too. Flossing can help rid all the smaller bits of food that get trapped in between the teeth and that your toothbrush might not be able to get. Mouthwash can be good for killing the rest of the bacteria in your mouth that’s perhaps around your gums and especially on your tongue. So next time you brush, make sure to floss and mouthwash too!
Consider Braces For Misalignment
If your teeth are misaligned then this could be for a number of reasons. It’s something that can also happen at various points in your life, so with that being said, it could be worth considering invisible braces. These can be great for helping to straighten your teeth, especially if you’re an adult and don’t fancy the more eye-catching braces made out of metal.
Having teeth that are crooked or misaligned can be a real confidence knock and the difference it can make in your appearance is certainly noticeable.
Avoid Things That Stain Your Teeth
There are lots of things that can end up staining your teeth if you’re not careful. So things like coffee and smoking can be worth avoiding if you want to keep your teeth as pearly white as possible. Obviously there are teeth whitening treatments you can get but this can have an impact on the sensitivity of your teeth, so it’s not something you want to be doing too often. Avoiding these things that stain your teeth is going to be a much more affordable way of maintaining health and appearance.
Keeping your teeth healthy takes some effort, especially when they’re meant to last you throughout your lifetime. Make sure you use these tips going forward!
