Dear Teenage Diary,
My life just seems to be getting worse everyday and I can’t find any way out. It seems like everyone is against me. I found out that whoever I talk to they either go straight to Denise and Sheila and tell them or Denise and Sheila just assume that I’m slagging them off. I just feel that I’ve got no friends left and it’s not even my fault. What depresses me the most is that they gave up trying to be friends with me so easily, surely if they were real friends they’d make me talk to them.
I’m most disappointed in Sheila, I mean she was my best friend, how could she give up? Denise did actually call round for me yesterday and asked whether I hated her. I didn’t answer. Then she asked what they’d done wrong. I said I was just feeling really left out at the moment and she had the nerve to say, “it doesn’t feel like that to me”. I felt like turning round and shouting, “of course it doesn’t, you’re not the one being left out”.
I had to face sitting next to Sheila in German while she was writing notes about me to Denise, because I looked over and saw my name. That’s what fucks me off the most, knowing that they’re slagging me off behind my back.
Noah did phone on Monday, much to my relief because he really brightens up my life. We were just generally chatting and then I plucked up the nerve to apologise for not speaking to him much on Sunday. I told him I was just embarrassed and he said, “I don’t know what to say now.” You could tell he was so embarrassed – how cute! He told me that if it rained on Saturday we should meet together in Chippenham otherwise he has to work. Boy do I hope it rains. I’m phoning him up on Friday so I’ll ask him to phone me on Saturday if he can go into Chippenham. Mum says she’ll take me to the gym on Sunday so at least I’ll see him then. I just hope Sheila and her mum don’t go. I could face Sheila, but not her mum.
*All names have been changed from those in my monthly teenage diary to protect the not so innocent.
Remember to come back tomorrow for the next installment of my 1995 teenage diary.
