It's a beaut of a morning but fuck me is it hard t It's a beaut of a morning but fuck me is it hard to run on compacted frozen snow πŸ₯ΆπŸ˜–
.
.
The dog and I tip toed our way to the local park and then ran a few laps of the fields to get some #morningmovement in. It was so lovely with the sun peeping through the tress and the sound of the crunch underfoot, but the sight of ALL the snowmen that had been so carefully and beautifully made yesterday without any heads (deffo trashed by some lowlife scumbags rather than them having melted off) wasn't so good. Why do people feel the need to do shit like this!?!?
.
.
Be careful if you're heading out today - stick to the edges of pavements where it's started to thaw a bit, and wear your grippiest footwear. But don't let it stop you going out cos there is such to be enjoyed out there 😍
Up bright and early with this one and the πŸ• for Up bright and early with this one and the πŸ• for snowy adventures in the park before anyone else got there (more snow pics in my stories.. 'cos well we don't get it much do we πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ) who else is enjoying a #snowday today?
Couldn't be arsed to go for a run this morning - f Couldn't be arsed to go for a run this morning - feeling yesterday's hill reps with the boy πŸ‘ - so snuck in a cheeky #strength sesh instead πŸ’ͺ
.
.
It's all about going with what feels right isn't it πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ No point forcing yourself to do something you don't wanna do, cos wheres the enjoyment in that?
.
.
Exercise should never ever be a chore. I mean sure you ain't gonna love it every single time and yeah sometimes you might need a gentle kick up the derriere to get you going, but just because you'd planned to do a certain thing on a certain day doesn't mean you have to stick to those plans religiously.
.
.
I don't feel like running today so I'm not going to. If I'd have forced myself out I probably would have felt amazing afterwards - the endorphins always make you feel great - but I know every step I'd have taken would be a mental battle with myself and it's just not worth it. I mean for what... just to tick it off a list or to prove something. Nah not for me!
.
.
I prefer the #intuitive approach. Listening to what my body tells me and giving it what it needs. Which today is blasting loud music in my ears, punches and kicks and then a day of blissful rest.
.
.
I'm really keen to hear how you go about your exercise regime (if you have one of course 😜). Do you plan a weeks worth of exercise and stick to it? Or are you more fluid and go with the flow, choosing which exercises you do based on how you're feeling? Do you get daily movement in quite easily or do you worry that you're not getting enough? Let me know x
If you're interested, here's what I'm wearing toda If you're interested, here's what I'm wearing today. It's another @scampanddude special - I'm not on commission or being paid by them in anyway I just blinkin' luvs 'em!
.
.
Not gonna lie, this little get up has totally made me feel like some sexy Spanish flamenco dancer, kind of a bit like this emoji πŸ’ƒ Look it's me in emjoi form!! It's super swishy - love a swish - it's coloured animal print - hello come to mama - aaaaaand it's super easy to piss in - if you saw yesterday's post you'll know what I mean #ifyouknowyouknow
.
.
So yes this morning I looked like the female version of Greg Davies, but look at me now πŸ’β€β™€οΈ I even put on some big hooped ear rings and some make up - I mean this is ALL kinds of effort for me. But look how happy I look. Not sure the dog's impressed mind you 🀣
.
.
I hope my posts have helped inspire you to, I don't wanna say make more effort cos it's not really about trying to beautify, it's more about #reclaimingyou and throwing off some of the negativity that I'm sure many of us are struggling with at the mo. It's about making some simple decisions in the morning to change and pep up your day, through the power of wardrobe choice. Doesn't need to be a dress, could be a top that you feel amazing in, or some underwear that when you wear it it makes you feel super invincible, or a piece of jewellery that you love. Anything, anything at all that makes you smile. Like this lovely swishy dress. 😍
Not the best picture granted, but I made the epic Not the best picture granted, but I made the epic fail of forgetting to take my phone out with me for Thursday's #pewithmum sesh and the only way I could persuade the boy to take one with his phone was if he wasn't in it πŸ™„ Hey ho, but it's proof enough that he was there just by the very fact it's clear I didn't take it myself.... so who's winning really I ask you 😜
.
.
Talking of winning, I won on sooo many levels this morning:
1. I managed to drag the boy from his festering cesspit out into the actual real life world at 7.30am.... I know!!!
2. I convinced him to run (in public, with me!)
3. I got him to do 5 lots of up and down hill reps (with moaning and lots of threats of WiFi being turned off but ya know...... WINNING!!)
.
.
Despite his moans, I think he does actually like spending time with me. He's at a great age for bants and he can be surprisingly good company once he's warmed up a bit. And even though he thinks I'm the world's most embarrassing mum, which I probably am (shouting a bit too loudly that I needed to stop cos my knickers were up my bum probs didn't help πŸ™Š), I also know that secretly, way down deep he finds me quite funny 🀣 He thinks I don't notice the little sniggers and smirks, but I clock them my boy, I clock them!
Wearing this today because it makes me feel AMAZIN Wearing this today because it makes me feel AMAZING 🌟
.
.
I've spoken a lot recently about wearing clothes that make you feel good, or doing something that makes you feel more YOU, like shaving your legs or straightening your hair, that kinda thing. And it really is incredible how such a small thing can impact your day.
.
.
I went for a run first thing and came back looking like some kind of bedraggled guinea-pig. It would have been sooooo easy to get out the shower, bung on some slobby comfies and tie the hair up into a trusty mum bun. But no. I knew if I did that I deffo wouldn't have a productive day. Now I'm not saying slobby comfies and mum buns are bad, jeez no, I'd be the last person to say that, they are freakin' epic. But they do tend to make you feel a bit meh, right πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ
.
.
So I popped on my new @scampanddude purchase (literally in love with how comfy this is - stylish and comfy, what's not to like! Plus looks like a dress, but you can do lunges, squats and silly mum dances without flashing yer knicks. Not sure what the jazz hands are about, but hey you know me I bloody loves a jazz hand πŸ‘) I even put on a necklace which I haven't done for ages.... honestly can't remember the last time. And I straightened my hair - probs could do with a wash, but I'm winging that part today. The smell of fried egg when the straighteners went through it was a bit of a giveaway but hey ya can't have it all.
.
.
I noticed that @alison.style has been talking about #thejoyofgettingdressed over on her page too so go check it out when you get a mo because I really do think there's something in this. Little moments of joy in such simple ways and it proper makes you feel amazing. Such a mood changer. And I am ALL for anything that makes me feel and look good at the mo. Plus not gonna lie this jumpsuit kinda makes me feel like I'm wearing a fancy go out out onesie and I mean come on who isn't up for that!!!
