Prune Cacao Power Balls

Everyone loves a post workout snack right? And these chocolatey power balls are bang on when it comes to taste, how simple they are to make and whacking up those energy levels. Hazelnuts sort out the protein, coconut oil gives you the good fats, cacao gives you a shot of antioxidants and prunes…well, prunes keep you regular don’t they 😉

What’s In Them?

  • 100g Prunes
  • 50g Hazelnuts
  • 25g Coconut Oil (melted)
  • 1 Tbsp Cacao Powder
  • 2 Squirts of Honey

How Do I Make Them?

Basically this recipe is all about the blitzing and the rolling. Blitz the hazelnuts in a food processor – it’s up to you how chopped up you want to go, we personally like them chunky! Add the prunes and blitz again. Finally add the three remaining ingredients and…yep you’ve guessed it, blitz again.

Remove the mixture from the processor and taking a full teaspoons worth, use you hands to roll into a ball (you should be able to make roughly 10 balls from this recipe).

Place the balls on some greaseproof paper and then place in the fridge to harden. We recommend storing them in a container in the fridge, although in all honesty they really aren’t going to last that long!

Top Tip – To make these balls look really extra special you could roll them in chopped nuts or some more cacao powder.

They are so yummy and prunes are such a powerhouse of goodness – seriously under rated. Let me know what you think if you make them 🙂
