Cool girl summer is over, but that doesn’t mean you must put your fashion experimentation on hold until next year. With colder weather, we always get treated to new and exciting trends that will fit the changing seasons. So, if you want to see what you can expect this fall, here are a few most prominent beauty and fashion trends that will rule the streets.
Remember Millennial Pink of last year? Well, this trend is now replaced with purple. Runways of Rodarte and Tom Ford were ruled with bold splashes of orchid purple. On the other hand, giants like Balenciaga took the trend even further with head-to-toe purple looks. If you’re not ready to go monochromatic, you can purchase a few purple items and easily add a touch of lavender with accessories.
Leather On Leather
Sure, leather jackets are here every fall, but this year, leather goes even further. Check out Alexander McQueen’s runways and you’ll see gorgeous leather dresses. If you love the look yet a leather dress is a bit too bold for you, you can pair faux leather pants with leather boots or leather blouse—the look is memorable yet not overwhelming.
Capes, Capes, Capes
Capes are probably one of the strongest trends of fall 2019. Chanel chose tweed, Marc Jacobs went with leopard while Celine took a basic yet elegant route. With its many variations, this knightly garment can work for any occasion, so embrace it right now!
This fall is all about plaid—we have more options than ever before. Just look at the entire pre-fall collection from Veronica Beard! Also, both MSGM and Burberry served plaid realness in their shows, but you can put a twist on the traditional look by combining your plaid top with biker shorts or concentrating the attention on your feet with plaid boots.
While not many designers dare to meddle with suits, some found a way to reinvent the classic look with a very simple addition: an elegant belt that will give you that cinched look. Prada decided to make blazers with built-in cinchers while Marni prefers a more contrasting look with grey suits and heavy chains. No matter if tailored or oversized, imitate the look by nipping your suits at the waist.
Even if you’re not big on accessories, you’ll love a timeless watch that will be a perfect addition to any outfit from formal office suits to light floral dresses. Grab something very mechanic yet minimalist like a gorgeous automatic watch and show of your elegance and perfect time management. If you want to join a trend that won’t go away in a few months, investing in a quality watch will definitely make you happy.
If you’re not scared of bold accessories, you might consider grabbing a mini bag. These pieces pack a huge punch compressed into a tiny accessory, so if you want to attract all the right attention, find a model you like and sport it to everything from light fall walks to wild nights out. If you want to kill two birds with one stone, buy a tiny bag in a snake or croc print which are also huge this season. Want to really take this trend to extremes? Go very absurd with a teeny tiny bag that holds nothing but your lip gloss and Airpods—it might seem redundant, but the absurdity is the part of the whole appeal.
Bold And Colourful Make Up
Thanks to the über-popular TV show Euphoria, now everyone wants to sport a statement make up look that will show off their creativity and bold character. It doesn’t matter that summer is over, you don’t have to embrace subtle hues and minimalist makeup! Take not from Vivienne Westwood’s post-apocalyptic look with bold splashes of paint on the face or consider something with less of a “the end is near” vibe and opt for lots of glitter on the eyes. If you love sparkle and shine, you can even match the lips. For some Euphoria-inspired makeup, grab a few differently-coloured eyeliners and add some playfulness and charm to your look.
Do you like what fall 2019 has in store for you? If yes, make sure to adopt a few of these trends and you’ll look stylish, feel fabulous and stay warm all the way to spring.
