My Teenage Diary Series – 11th August 1995

Dear Teenage Diary,

I phoned up Kenneth today, because he’s back at home. Percy gave me his phone number yesterday and told me that Kenneth wanted me to phone him. I was really worried about it, because I guess I thought he’d sound really weak, but he didn’t, he sounded just like he always did and he’s not letting the accident get to him at all. The police haven’t spoken to him yet, but he’s not allowed to drive for 18 months to 2 years else he may suffer from fits. He had 37 staples put in his head to keep it all together, but now he reckons he’s only got aches, pains, scars and scabs to show. I knew the subject would come up, but not as bad as I thought. He questioned whether we should go out with one another still because we’d see very little of each other now that he had no car. He said he still liked me, but he’d have to think the situation over. I told him I still liked him and that I could always get lifts over to him and then he said he could get lifts off Raymond whenever he came down, so I’m really hoping to hang onto him. It seems such an awful reason to split up, especially as we still both like each other and maybe it would work better that way because we could both lead our own lives and then whenever possible meet up with one another. I kind of like it when you’re with a boy and you don’t see them all the time, because it makes the time you spend with him more special. Anyway, next time I come in contact with him if the subject arises I’ll suggest we still see each other because I don’t think I could bear splitting with him. I’ve never felt like this for anyone before. He’s so different to the other guys I’ve been out with. He’s just an all round great guy and I’m going to put up a fight to keep him because I couldn’t bear to lose him.

Remember to come back tomorrow for the next installment of my 1995 teenage diary.
