Art of Healthy Living Advent Calendar – Day 12

Today we want you to be the very best you possibly can be because, well, we all deserve a moment to shine, right?!

Door 12 of our advent calendar is all about showing off, yep that’s right if you’ve got it flaunt it and we reckon you’ve definitely got it!

OK, so you might not be at your very best at this precise moment in time, but hey let’s do something about it. Take those negative feelings you might have about yourself – it could be body insecurities, food issues, confidence issues or stress related anxiety, whatever they might be and turn them into positives by doing something about it.

Worried you don’t do enough exercise?

Then… do something about it!

Start a new class, join a gym, go for a run, or take a walk when you may have otherwise taken the car. Try different things until you find the thing that you love doing, because if you don’t love it you aren’t going to stick at it. Over time your new exercise habits will start to see results; you’ll be stronger, you’ll be fitter, you’ll be healthier, you’ll feel great and you’ll be the best version of you!

Concerned you eat too much sugar?

Then…do something about it!

Make small steps to cut out the sugar in your diet. Try to stop adding it to your hot drinks, buy sugar free versions of the products you usually use, and start baking with honey, maple syrup and other healthier sugar alternatives. Yes, it’ll be hard at first, but give it a few weeks and before long you won’t miss it. Your body, skin, teeth and general health should all improve, which means yet again you’ll be the best version of you!

Do you find it hard to unwind?

Then…do something about it!

Download a meditation guide and take some time out each evening to chill out, relax and empty your mind of any stresses or negative thoughts. Spending time with yourself is so important, but is all too often overlooked as an indulgence. Take a bath, go for a walk, or just sit and do nothing for a while; just remember to look out for number 1 so that you can be…yep you guessed it…the best version of yourself!

We’re not asking you to completely change who you are and it’s not about looking picture perfect or fitting into size zero jeans or surviving on nothing but chia seeds, we just want you to be the very best you can be…for yourself.
